What the Feature Does
Automatically analyzes your store’s data (catalog, transactions, and visits)
Identifies product types frequently bought together
Generates suggested customer segments based on real purchase behaviors
Uses GenAI to name and describe each segment clearly and intuitively
Provides ready-to-use segment rules you can apply instantly or customize further
How often are segments generated?
New AI-generated segment opportunities are created once per week.
Each cycle, Nosto suggests up to three high-potential customer segments, based on your store’s most recent data.
These suggestions are designed to highlight strong purchase patterns and affinities—but they are only shown when there's meaningful data to support them.
Why you might not see any suggestions
Even if your store has high traffic and strong sales volume, there are scenarios where no segment opportunities will appear. This usually happens when:
Customers aren’t frequently purchasing multiple product types in a single transaction
Huginn doesn't detect strong enough product affinity relationships to generate a meaningful segment
To ensure the quality of suggestions, Huginn relies on 60–90 days of historical data to identify consistent patterns and relationships between products.
So if you're not seeing segments yet, it may just be a matter of time—or a sign that your current transaction patterns don't show strong enough co-purchase signals for Huginn to act on.
Where to Find Your AI Segment Opportunities
You can view your suggested segments in two places:
Dashboard: A preview of new segment opportunities is available on your main admin dashboard.
Full View:
Navigate to Experience.AI > Audience Insights & Builder > AI Segment Opportunities to review, approve, or archive each suggestion in more detail.
Platform Considerations
Shopify Merchants
If you’re using Shopify, the feature works out of the box by automatically leveraging the native producttype
attribute to identify product relationships.
No additional setup is required.
Non-Shopify Merchants
If you're on another ecommerce platform, you can still take full advantage of AI-generated segment opportunities by completing a quick one-time setup:
Go to Product Intelligence Settings
Map an alternative attribute (such as
category
,type
, or a custom tag) to act as your store’s equivalent ofproducttype
This mapping allows Huginn to analyze your catalog with the same level of granularity, ensuring high-quality segment suggestions based on your product data.
