Everything is done in the Business Settings page. You can find this page here. You can navigate to this page by doing:
Click the hamburger icon in the top left hand corner of the screen
Click All tools
Click on Business Settings in the Settings column on the far right of the screen.
Go to the People section and select the user that will connect Nosto to Facebook.
STEP 1: Make Sure The User Is Business Admin
Click on the pencil icon beside the person’s name.
Make sure the Business Manager role is set to Admin. (you might need to ask the admin or owner of your Business Manager to make you an admin)
STEP 2: Make Sure The User is Page Admin
Go to Pages under Assigned Assets
If the page you want to use for ads isn’t listed, you can assign the page to the user by clicking the Assign Assets button.
You can then assign the page to the user.
When the page is listed for the user, make sure they have the Page Admin role.
STEP 3: User is Ad Account Admin
- Go to Advert Accounts under Assigned Assets
- As with pages, if the ad account you want to use for ads isn’t listed, you can assign the ad account to the user by clicking the Assign Assets button.
- If the ad account isn’t listed in the Assign Advert Accounts modal, you will need to first add the ad account to the business. Follow the steps in the Add Ad Account to Business section below.
- When the ad account is listed for the user, make sure they have the Advert Account Admin role.
STEP 4: Add Ad Account to Business
Go to the Adverts Manager
Click on the dropdown and right click on the ad account you want to add. You can copy its id here.
Then go back to Advert Accounts under Assigned Assets in Business Settings.
Click Add New Advert Accounts and then choose Ad an advert account.
- Paste the ad account id into the Avert account ID field and click the Add Avert Account button.
STEP 5: Share Pixel with Business
In order to create retargeting campaigns, the business needs access to the ad account’s pixel as well the ad account. This is because the product catalog belongs to the business and the pixel belongs to the ad account; sales recorded through the pixel are associated with products in the product catalog.
The “The pixel is not shared with the business manager.” error can occur when the ad account is owned by one business and it is shared with a separate business and this separate business is the one that Nosto is connected to. Follow the steps below to ensure the ad account’s pixel is shared with the Nosto-connected business.
Go to the pixels section of the business settings for the business that owns the ad account https://business.facebook.com/settings/pixels/
Click the Assign Partner button on the right hand side of the selected pixel
Enter the business id of the Nosto-connected business.
Go to the pixels section of the business settings for the Nosto-connected business
The pixel you just shared should now be visible. Select the pixel and click the Assign Ad Accounts button on the right hand side.
Select the Nosto-connected ad account and save.
Go to the Facebook account settings https://my.nosto.com/admin/MERCHANT/account/settings/facebook and hit the Refresh button.
