Previewing Recommendation Template Changes in Your Store

The In-Store Preview allows you to see real-time changes to your recommendation templates directly on your storefront—without needing to save your edits first. This makes it easier and faster to iterate on template designs with immediate visual feedback.


Where can I access the In-Store Preview?

You can find it in the Admin Portal:

  • Go to Recommendations > Templates

  • Click the Preview on your Store button in the top right of the editor


How do I use the Store Preview?

  1. Click "Preview on your Store" in the template editor.

  2. Select the placement or campaign you want to preview from the dropdown.

  3. Enter the URL of the page where the placement appears.

    • The homepage is pre-filled by default.

    • If the placement appears on a different page (e.g. PDP, PLP, Cart), update the URL to reflect that page.

  4. A new tab will open showing your storefront.

  5. Start editing the template—your changes will appear immediately in the store tab without saving.


Do I need to save my changes for them to appear in the preview?

No. Edits are reflected in real time as you make them, without needing to save.
However, changes are not live on your actual storefront until you click Save.


Why isn’t my placement showing in the preview?

Make sure:

  • You’ve selected the correct placement.

  • The URL matches the page type where that placement is configured.

  • The placement is active and implemented on the target page.


The preview tab didn’t open. What should I do?

  • Check that your browser allows pop-ups from the Admin Portal.

  • Disable any browser extensions that might block new tabs.

  • Try opening the preview in an incognito window to rule out conflicts.


Can I use Store Preview with any recommendation template?

Yes, Store Preview works with all templates available under Recommendations > Templates.
