Nosto leverages a variety of different product attributes for multiple purpose - such as creating taxonomies, grouping items and creating correlations to be used for merchandising purposes. Based on customer interaction and purchase data, Nosto also derives performance metrics to be used for certain parts of the product, such as the Catalog Explorer.

Product attributes and performance metrics are split by different activity groups and this list aims to explain what each field contains and how they are calculated.


Product information

Product name: Denotes the name of the product as it's shown onsite.

Product ID: Denotes the unique identifier of the product synced from the e-commerce platform.

Availability: Current availability of the product (e.g. whether the product "in stock" or "not available")

Brand: Denotes the brand or make of the product, if applicable.


Pricing

List Price: Initial selling price of the product, if the product has been discounted.

Price: Current selling price of the product.

Supplier cost: Cost of procuring one unit of the product. Used to calculate margin related fields and metrics.

Gross margin: Current selling price minus the supplier cost, per product (price - supplier cost)

Gross margin %: The percentage of margin on the total selling price (gross margin / selling price)

Discount status: Denotes if the product has a discount applied; "has discount" or "no discount".


Log

Created: When product was first added to the product catalog by Nosto

Published: When product was first published on the e-commerce platform.

Updated: When product information was last updated by Nosto.

Reviews

Review count: Total amount of customer reviews this product has received to date.

Rating: The average star rating between 0-5 based on customer reviews.


Inventory

Inventory: The current unit count of the product in stock.

Sales velocity: Estimates how many units of the product are selling per day. This is based on dividing number of sales across the defined time period.

Days left of Inventory: Estimated forecast of how long product inventory will last, based on the current sales velocity.

No. of SKUs: Total number of stock keeping units (SKU's). Usually used to denote selectable properties such as color or size.

Variant availability %: The percentage of available stock keeping units (SKU's) to provide a high level overview of color or size availabilities. i.e. 2 of 4 SKU's are sold out results in 50% SKU availability.

No. of variants: Total number of product variants. Usually used to display different prices to B2B or B2C customers for example.


Performance

Recommendation Impressions: How many times a product was shown through a Nosto on-site recommendation campaign within the given time period.

Product Views: How many times a product has been viewed in a browser during the given time period, referring to a product page load, or a view in a similar context, such as a load of an overlay modal resembling a product page view.

Reach: How many shoppers viewed a product in the given time period.

Nosto clicks: How many times a product has been clicked after being seen through a Nosto on-site recommendation campaign, or Category Merchandising v1 Sequence or Onsite Content Campaign (if this refers to a product) in the given time period

Click through rate: The click-through-rate of the product (impressions / clicks) in the given time period (views / clicks)

Added to cart: How many times a product was added to the shopping cart in the given time period.

Added to cart rate: The percentage of how many shopping carts were created including this product (Added to cart / views)

Abandoned Cart: How many times shopping carts including this product were abandoned (carts - orders)

Abandoned Cart Rate: The percentage of how many shopping carts including this product were abandoned (carts - orders) / carts)

Units sold: Total number of units sold in the given time period

Orders: Total number of orders.

Conversion rate: Conversion rate % of this product in the given time period - e.g. how many times customers end up buying a product after viewing it (Units sold / views)


Revenue

Total sales: Total revenue generated by selling this product in the given time period.

Sales per recommendation impression: Revenue divided by how many times a product was shown in a Nosto on-site recommendations (Total sales / Impressions)

Sales per product view: Revenue divided by how many times a product was viewed in the store.

Sales per Nosto click: Revenue divided by how many times a product was clicked after being seen in an applicable Nosto campaign (Total sales / Nosto clicks)

Profit per recommendation impression: Gross margin divided by how many times a product was shown in a Nosto campaign (Gross profit / impressions)

Profit per product view: Gross margin divided by how many times a product was viewed in the store (Gross profit / views)

Profit per Nosto click: Gross margin divided by how many times a product was clicked after being seen in a Nosto campaign (Gross profit / impressions)
