What is Smart Did-You-Mean?

Smart Did-You-Mean is an extension that allows you to integrate a Did you mean ... ? Function that you already know from Google, Yahoo, etc., into your shop.

In total, there are four cases that can occur when searching with Smart Did-You-Mean functionality enabled:

  • Normal Searche: The customer searches for a term and receives the result for the entered search term, as there are sufficient and relevant results for the search term.

    Example::

  • Did-You-Mean suggestion: The customer searches for a term and receives a result. However, there are also relevant results for a similar search term, which was frequently searched for by other customers. Therefore, a suggestion is made to the user: Did you mean ... ? (by clicking the suggestion, a search result page is played for the alternative search term).

  • Improved search: The customer searches for a term that would deliver results, but other customers have searched much more often for a similar search term that would also deliver relevant results. The user receives a search results page with results for the alternative search term and the information that another term was searched for. In addition, the user is given the option of displaying the results for the original query with a single click.

    Example::

  • Improved search at No-Result: The user searches for a term that would not return results, but other users have searched for similar search terms with results that return relevant results. The user gets a search results page with results and the information that another term was searched for because the original query did not return any results.
