One of the basic principles of Findologic's search is to determine whether items found are really relevant enough to be displayed. The user experience suffers greatly if, for example, more than 1000 hits are displayed for a search term.

Therefore, if an item is classified as very relevant and others as much less relevant, the so-called relative relevance limit is used to limit the number of search results to a reasonable number.

The relative relevance limit determines up to which relevance (relative to the best hit found for a search term) search hits are displayed based on different weighting parameters.

If the search finds too many items that tend to be relevant, there are in principle two ways of adjusting this:

Adjust the item data:

-> e.g: Use of the relevant search terms in the title of the product e.g. "leather saddle" in the title instead of "saddle" in the title and "made of leather" in the description.

-> Assignment of important properties, e.g. material: leather.

-> Entering keywords in the export, which cover the most important alternative search terms.
