Integration Overview

The integration syncs customer data between Nosto and Mapp for personalized marketing campaigns by Mapp, enhancing targeting for email workflows and website personalization. It leverages groups in Mapp as Nosto segments. The integration is modular, allowing you to import data to Nosto from Mapp, export data from Nosto to Mapp, or activate bidirectional sync.

In addition to customer data sync, profiles in Mapp and shoppers in Nosto, Nosto can optionally push cart and search abandonment events into Mapp Whiteboard, where these events can trigger marketing campaign workflows. Cart abandonment event in short is an action where an identified shopper abandons their cart and leaves the site, whereas search abandonment is similar, but triggered by an identified shopper searches something, but leaves without buying.

Benefits of the Integration

  • Advanced Email Personalization: Utilize Mapp's tools and additional data provided by Nosto as segments for highly personalized marketing campaigns.

  • Advanced Website Personalization: Use Nosto’s segmentation tools for personalized onsite experiences and campaigns for traffic and groups originating from Mapp.

  • Enhanced Analytics: Gain deeper insights into marketing creatives by exploring Mapp groups’ behavior as segments in Nosto. Analyze shopper behavior on the website using Nosto's segmentation analytics to understand shopping habits and product preferences.

Example Use Cases

  • Data Import: Use Mapp groups as Nosto segments to personalize website experiences reflecting the marketing email content and recipient groups.

  • Data Export: Use Nosto segments to target specific interest groups, such as shoppers interested in certain products but have not purchased yet.

  • Events: Activate cart abandonment or search abandonment emails and/or workflows in Mapp Whiteboard.

Getting Started with the Integration

To get started, contact your Mapp customer success contact or support to activate data import from Mapp to Nosto. Once this is activated by Mapp, proceed by connecting your Nosto account to Mapp. You will need the following details from Mapp:

SFTP Settings

  • SFTP URL

  • Username

  • Password

Integration Settings

  • Integration ID

  • Integration Secret

  • Integration URL Endpoint

Once you have the necessary details and credentials, connect your Nosto account to Mapp under Account Settings > Integrations > Mapp > Settings tab. After establishing the connection, activate segment import, export, and event flow to Mapp. Each feature can be activated separately to suit your needs.

Getting Started with Mapp Groups as Nosto Segments

Importing customer data from Mapp to Nosto downloads the entire customer group and stores these as profiles/shoppers within Nosto.

The integration does not automatically create Nosto segments, which must be created separately. To do this:

  1. Access Nosto Audience Insights and builder.

  2. Create a new segment based on Customer Attributes.

  3. Select the customer attribute from the dropdown as in the screenshot below

  4. Narrow down the group by selecting a value within the customer group (e.g., "mapp.region" for the group and "Europe" for the sub-group).

The segment export works similarly to import. After activating segment export, profiles/shoppers are updated with the respective attribute

based on the Nosto segment name. This metadata can be used to create workflows and targeting options within Mapp.

Getting Started with Events in Mapp

Nosto pushes two types of events to Mapp: cart abandonment and search abandonment. These events can trigger marketing campaigns and workflows in Mapp Whiteboard. Consult Mapp’s customer success or support for configuration and strategy advice.
