Use Rights via Registration to not only request the rights to content from the content creator but also to collect additional data from the creator. Once the content creator has approved, the content, as well as any collected data, can be repurposed (email marketing, ads, etc.)

For details about the Rights via Registration workflow for other Networks, click here.

Setup

  • Navigate to UGC Settings > Rights via Registration.

  • First, connect an account for Instagram you wish to utilize; we recommend using your official accounts from a best-practice perspective.

  • Under the Review Your Rights Request Messages, create several unique Direct messages. These will then be used to send to content creators requesting approval via Direct Messages.

Note that a moderator can also edit each message on the fly before sending the request. The values for #{{username}} and #{{uniqueurl}} will be auto-populated at the time the message is sent.

  • As an optional step, you can also create several unique Messages to be shared as a public comment in the post.

This step is particularly useful if you are sending direct messages (DM) to content creators who don't follow your page since DMs sent to those users will not show under their inbox automatically, they will show as Message Requests.

  • Under the Customize Your Pages section, you can edit the customer-facing pages. These three sections can be amended to suit your brand guidelines.

  • Click on the </>EDIT button to style the webpage/messaging, and click </>EDIT again to switch back to preview mode and review your changes.

  • When adding your Terms and Conditions URL, a link will be dynamically inserted into the form.

  • A Return URL can be provided to redirect the users to a specific page when finished.

Request Rights from the Admin Portal

  • Go to Curation > Content

  • When you have found the content that you'd like to acquire the rights to, select Rights by Registration from the More Actions menu (drop-down arrow on the right-hand side).

  • You will then be prompted to define your Rights Request message to be shared via Direct Message. You can also pick others from the template

Please note that the Direct Message contains a unique link that should only be shared with the content creator, so make sure you don't share this as a public comment in the post.

  • From here, if the piece of Content which you are requesting Rights was not aggregated via # term and Nosto has the content creator @, simply click on the Copy Direct Message & Open Profile button. This will copy the message in the clipboard and open the Content Creator Profile in a new tab.

  • In the case of tiles that were aggregated in Nosto via a # term, due to Instagram limitations, Nosto will not have access to the content creator @, so you will be presented with the button Copy Direct Message & Open Original Post button

  • Upon clicking this button, the message will be copied to your clipboard, and a new tab will open with the original post.

  • Find your way to the content creator profile page by clicking on the username at the top

  • Once you are on the Content Creator profile, click the Message button and paste the rights request message.

  • As an optional step, go back to Nosto, review the public comment message, click on Copy Comment & Open Original Post, and post it as a comment.

  • Once the Content Creator has followed the Rights Approval workflow, Visual UGC will automatically update the Tile in Nosto with the following label.

Request Rights using the Chrome Extension

  • Directly on Instagram, find a post you want to request the rights to and locate the Nosto icon that has been added to the post toolbar.

  • Clicking the Nosto icon will display a popup containing all of your available actions. If you have access to multiple Stacks, remember to use the selector at the top of the popup window to choose the Stack you wish to request rights from.

Select the Rights via the Registration tab and review your Rights Request message to be shared via Direct Message. You can also pick others from the templates.

Please note that the Direct Message contains a unique link that should only be shared with the content creator, so make sure you don't share this as a public comment in the post.

  • From here, simply click on the Copy Direct Message & Mark as Rights Requested button. This will copy the message in the clipboard and open the Content Creator Profile in a new tab.

  • Once you are on the Content Creator profile, click the Message button and paste the rights request message.

  • As an optional step, go back to the Chrome Extension, review the public comment message, click on Copy Comment, and post it as a comment.

  • Once the Content Creator has followed the Rights Approval workflow, Visual UGC will automatically update the Tile in Nosto with the following label.
