Using AI Opportunities to Build and Improve Bundles

Let Huginn surface where bundles are missing and which existing bundles need attention, then act on both in a few clicks.

Overview

AI Opportunities is a dedicated page inside Dynamic Bundles where Huginn brings two types of actionable tasks to you, so you do not have to manually cross-reference performance data and inventory.

There are two types of opportunities:

  • Top Performers: top-selling products in your catalog that do not have a Bundle yet, with AI-generated suggestions for what to bundle them with.

  • Fallback Item Suggestions: your existing Bundles that have out-of-stock products and are at risk of showing incompletely or not at all, with suggested replacements.

You do not need to set anything up for Opportunities to appear. Huginn continuously analyzes your behavioral data and catalog to keep the list relevant.

To find AI Opportunities: go to Nosto Admin, open Dynamic Bundles, and select AI Opportunities in the sidebar.

Top Performer Opportunities

What This Opportunity Means

High-performing products are proven sellers. Adding Bundles to them is one of the lowest-effort, highest-impact ways to increase average order value, but finding those gaps manually means cross-referencing performance data with your Bundle setup.

Huginn does this for you. It evaluates your top-selling products from the last 7 days, identifies which of them do not have an active Bundle yet, and surfaces up to 20 suggestions. For each product, it generates a ready-to-use Bundle idea: a suggested combination of products to bundle the top seller with, backed by co-purchase data.

These suggestions balance strong cross-sell signals with category diversity. When multiple high-affinity products exist, Huginn doesn’t just cluster similar items—it also introduces complementary products from different categories where relevant, helping you create more compelling, varied Bundles that can drive higher overall value.

Cross-sell Reasoning

For each product suggested as a Bundle item, you can see the reasoning: how many times it was bought together with the top-selling product across your store. Use this to quickly judge whether the combination makes sense before creating the Bundle.

How to Act

  1. Open the Top Performers section in AI Opportunities.

  2. Review the opportunity cards. Each card shows the top-selling product and the suggested Bundle composition.

  3. Review the reasoning for each suggested companion product ("x-times bought together with [product]").

  4. Click Create Bundle to turn the suggestion into a live Bundle directly from the Opportunities page.

  5. You can also adjust the suggested composition before confirming.

When you create a Bundle from a Top Performer suggestion, its origin is set to AI-suggested.

💡Tip: Use the "bought together" count as a signal, not a rule. High co-purchase frequency is a strong indicator, but context matters. Review suggestions against your catalog and customer segments before publishing.

Fallback Item Suggestions for Incomplete Bundles

What This Opportunity Means

When a product in one of your existing Bundles goes out of stock, that Bundle typically either shows incomplete on your storefront or stops showing entirely. That is lost revenue from a Bundle that was otherwise working fine.

Huginn surfaces up to 20 of these affected Bundles per day and suggests replacement products so you can fix the gap quickly, without having to manually audit your Bundles for OOS issues.

Suggestion Types

For each affected Bundle, Huginn offers two replacement strategies so you can choose the right approach:

  • Cross-sell replacement: suggests a product that works well with the remaining in-stock Bundle items, based on co-purchase behavior. The goal is to keep the Bundle performing at the same level or better. Each suggestion shows "bought together X times" reasoning.

  • Similarity replacement: suggests a product that is similar to the out-of-stock item, based on Nosto's similarity model. The goal is to preserve the Bundle's original intent and stay true to what was originally set up.

How to Act

  1. Open the Fallback Item Suggestions section in AI Opportunities.

  2. Review the Bundle cards. Each card shows the affected Bundle and which product went out of stock.

  3. Review the two replacement options (cross-sell vs. similarity) and their reasoning.

  4. Select the replacement that fits best and apply it.

  5. The Bundle is updated and its origin changes to AI-assisted.

You can also open the Bundle in the editor to make further adjustments before saving.

💡Tip: This section is time-sensitive. If a Bundle is showing as Incomplete or Unavailable, it may already be failing to display on-site. Check Fallback Item Suggestions regularly, especially during seasonal catalog changes. For more on Bundle statuses, see "Understanding Bundle Statuses".

What Happens After You Act on an Opportunity

  • For Top Performers: a new Bundle is created with AI-suggested origin. You can continue to edit it in the Bundle editor. The Bundle's origin updates to AI-suggested.

  • For Fallback Item Suggestions: the replacement product is applied to the affected Bundle. The Bundle's origin updates to AI-assisted.

  • In both cases, the Bundle is saved and active once you confirm.

You can always edit or remove AI-added products in the Bundle editor later.

Summary

  • AI Opportunities surfaces two types of tasks from Huginn, found in the Dynamic Bundles sidebar.

  • Top Performers identify your top-selling products (last 30 days) that have no Bundle yet, and suggest which products to bundle them with, backed by "bought together" reasoning. You can create a Bundle directly from the suggestion.

  • Fallback Item Suggestions surface existing Bundles where an OOS product is causing display issues, and offer two fix strategies: cross-sell (optimize performance) or similarity (preserve original intent).

  • Acting on a Top Performer suggestion creates a new Bundle with AI-suggested origin. Acting on a Fallback suggestion updates an existing Bundle's origin to AI-assisted.

  • Check Opportunities regularly to close bundle coverage gaps and prevent OOS products from silently breaking your Bundles.
