Analytics - Gives you an overview of what is going on within the platform, and a breakdown of what is happening with the content.

Discover - The process of bringing content into the Nosto platform.

Terms - A term is a stream of content on social media that you would like to start bringing into the Nosto platform.

  • Type: Hashtag - Aggregate based on a specific hashtag from a chosen social channel.

  • Type: Geo-Radius - Search and aggregate from the chosen social channel for a stream of content in a specific area.

  • Type: User - Search and aggregate from the chosen social channel for a stream of content created by a specific user.

  • Type: Search - Search the chosen social channel for a stream of content using a specific word or words.

  • Whitelist - A specific list of users who you would ONLY like to aggregate content from.

  • Black List - A specific list of users who you would like to DISCARD content from.

  • Language - Specify what language content needs to be written in, in order to aggregate it.

  • Geo-Fence - Location-specific logic that can be applied to UGC. Narrow a search to a specific location.

Manual Tile - Used to create tiles by uploading your own content without using social channels. These tiles can used in all the touchpoints.

Direct Uploader - allows your customers to submit content directly to Nosto via a form which you can configure. Ideally to collect UGC outside social networks.

Curate - Where you can manage content that has been aggregated.

Moderation - Where you decide which content you want to use within your campaigns or displays.

Published - Content which you have authorised to be used on a display.

Queued - Content that is waiting to be approved or discarded.

Disabled - Content which you have not authorised to be used on a display.

Saved View - Can filter the content with multiple options and criteria. Then can save the view for quick access to specific content.

Batch Edit - Can select multiple items of content to perform a specific actions.

Tags - A UGC tag is a label you apply to content in order to group it within the platform. These tags can be applied automatically to content aggregated with the terms. They can also be manually applied to individual pieces of content during the curation stage.

Filters - It is a grouping of content which powers a display.

Touchpoints - How your approved content is shown.

  • Onsite UGC Widget - A small application created to display your content, takes content from the Nosto platform and presents it on your homepage.

  • Waterfall - Large widget displaying lots of content. Dynamic so will shrink in size if page is made smaller. Will take up a whole screen. Good as a feature or social hub.

  • Carousel - Smaller display, shows one horizontal line of content. Dynamic, so will shrink if page is made smaller. Will take up less space, recommended for use at the bottom of a page.

  • Embed Code - The code you copy from the Nosto platform in order to insert it within your website.

  • Digital Screen - A way to display content at a live conferences or events. Event screens are designed for the fast-paced display of content during a live event. The screens are designed for viewing not for online interactions.

  • Waterfall - New content appears in the top left corner and moves the content right and down. You can configure the amount of columns that are displayed.

  • Carousel - Displays one piece of content at a time and cycles between the 30 latest items.

Customisations

  • HTML - A system to manipulate the font, colour, graphics, and hyperlink effects on web pages.

  • Javascript - A computer language used to create interactive effects within web browsers.

  • CSS - A system to help define font, size, color, spacing, border and location of HTML information on a web page, and can also be used to create a continuous look throughout multiple pages of a website.

Social Commerce

  • Product Tag - A specific type of tag used to tag products and allow customers the opportunity to purchase or gain more information on a product or service.

  • Shopspot - A ShopSpot is a virtual swing tag that can be placed directly on images of products.

Rights Management - A feature to enable you to ask permission to reuse content posted to social networks for your own marketing purposes.

  • Rights via Registration - In this approach, the content creator will need to click through a link to agree to the Terms and Conditions and approve. Ideal if you want to collect more rich information about the content creator and collect the original high resolution asset.

  • Rights via Response - Use Nosto to request rights from the content creator, and they approve by responding with a specific hashtag.

Users - Gives you a list of those who have access to your Stack. Allows you to invite more people to edit your Stack.

  • Type : Admin - An admin has access to all the sections within the admin portal and can make changes to all areas of the Stack account.

  • Type : Moderator - This user will only have access to the Curate>Content screen and can only moderate your ingested posts.

  • Type : Admin + Developer - Similar to the Admin role, but also has access to developer tools (if you're on the respective licence tier).

Bad Words List - pre-define 'bad words' and their various spellings. The list is completely customizable by the admin of a stack and can be used to help alleviate the amount of manual moderation needed.


Developer

  • REST API - Representational State Transfer, provides a way for the backend to interface directly with the Stack configuration, data and functionality.

  • Webhooks - UGC Webhooks enable callbacks to be made to your HTTP(S) endpoints when specific events have been triggered (often referred to as notifications).
