FAQ: Why do I have to connect my social media accounts to Nosto's UGC?

A requirement imposed by Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter is to be able to aggregate content from these respective networks, you need to identify the User, App, and/or Business Account that you are ingesting from.

The process of identifying which User, App, and/or Business Account you are aggregating from is called Self Signed Authentication and involves you permitting Nosto to aggregate on your behalf.

Nosto will never publish posts on your behalf. At no point will your account information be exposed or used by Nosto for anything other than aggregating content?

To start this process and generate your Social Token, you can either:

  • Create a New Term for the respective Network

  • Navigate to Settings > General and click on the Social Data Access tab

If you wish to remove an Account from your UGC account, navigate to Settings > General and click on Social Data Access. From here you can remove any accounts that you no longer want associated with your UGC account.
