While setting up a digital screen, we recommend taking into consideration several factors before going live. The list below serves as a guideline for those factors. Keep in mind that based on the event venue, each live display can have its nuances.
1. Disable "Sleep Mode" on your device
Windows:
Click Start and then Control Panel.
Click System and Security or System and Maintenance, and then Power Options.
Click Change Plan settings next to the selected plan and next Change Advanced Power Settings.
Click the + sign in front of Sleep.
Click the + sign in front of Sleep after, and set it to Never. If you have a notebook, set the value to Never for both On Battery and Plugged In.
Click the + sign in front of Hibernate after, and set it to Never. If you have a notebook, set the value to Never for both On Battery and Plugged In.
Click OK and then Save Changes.
Mac:
Choose the Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Energy Saver.
Drag the slider that controls the computer's sleep to Never, or select “Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off” if the checkbox is available.
2. Disable "Screensaver" on your device
Windows:
Click Start and then Control Panel.
Click All Control Panel Items and then Display.
Click Screen Saver and from the dropdown select None.
Mac:
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Desktop & Screen Saver.
Select the Screen Saver tab and from the time dropdown, select Never.
3. Consider the screen resolution of the production screen
As different screens have different sizes, make sure to test on the production screen before going live
4. Adjust browser zoom level as needed
Use (⌘+) and (⌘-) to adjust the zoom
After you make adjustments, make sure to refresh the browser so the screen responds to the zoom level appropriately
We recommend using the latest version of Chrome as your browser to display a Digital Screen.
Most importantly: TEST! Before going live, we strongly recommend testing the digital screen on the actual display you plan to use.
