Use Rights via Registration to not only request the rights to content from the content creator but also to collect additional data from the creator. Once the content creator has approved, the content, as well as any collected data, can be repurposed (email marketing, ads, etc.)

Supported Networks

The following Networks are currently supported by Rights via Response:

  • Twitter

  • Instagram

  • YouTube

The Rights via Registration workflow can also be used for all other Networks, including, but not limited to:

  • Daily Motion

  • Facebook

  • Flickr

  • GoConnect

  • TikTok

  • Imgur

  • Livestream

  • Pinterest

  • Reddit

  • Sina Weibo

  • Spotify

  • Soundcloud

  • TikTok

  • Tumblr

  • Twitch

  • Vimeo

  • YouKu

  • WeChat

  • Wistia

  • WordPress / RSS

For details about the Rights via Registration workflow for other Networks, click here.

  • Navigate to Settings > Rights by Registration.

  • First, connect an account for each of the Networks (Twitter / Instagram / YouTube) you wish to utilize; we recommend using your official accounts from a best-practice perspective.

  • Under Custom Message, create several unique messages. These can then be used to send to content creators requesting approval. Note, that a moderator can also edit each message on the fly before sending the request. The values for #{{username}} and #{{claimurl}} will be auto-populated at the time the message is sent.

Note: Links are not clickable within Instagram posts/comments. Instead a #{{claimurl}} is provided and must be pasted into the website section of the Instagram profile account sending the rights requests.

  • Edit the Customer Facing Pages. These three sections can be amended to suit your brand guidelines.

  • Click on the </>EDIT button to style the webpage/messaging, and click </>EDIT again to switch back to preview mode and review your changes.

  • When adding your Terms and Conditions URL, a link will be dynamically inserted into the form.

  • A Return URL can be provided to redirect the users to a specific page when finished.

Request Rights - Single Request (Twitter/Youtube/Instagram)

1. Go to Curate > Manage Content

2. When you have found the content that you'd like to acquire the rights to, select Rights via Registration from the More Actions menu (drop-down arrow on the right-hand side).

3. You will then be prompted to define your Rights Request message and validate that you are comfortable with what will be sent to the User.

From here, if the piece of Content which you are requesting Rights is one of the following:

  • Any Aggregated Tweet from Twitter

  • Any Aggregated Video from YouTube

  • Instagram Post which either mentions your Business in the Caption or a Comment

You will be able to hit Send on the message.

If however you are requesting Rights to an Instagram Message where your Business has not been mentioned, you will need to copy the message and manually post it. This is due to the changes made by Instagram to their API in 2018.

In this case, rather than a Send button, you will be presented with the following:

Simply click on Copy Message to copy your Message template, including telling users where to find the Claim URL, and then select Go to Instagram Post to paste your message.

4. Once the Content Creator has followed the Rights Approval workflow, Visual UGC will automatically update the Tile in Visual UGC with the following label.

Request Rights - Single Request (All Other Networks)

Nosto's UGC has extended its Rights via Response workflow, so customers can leverage this functionality to request Rights for ANY tile that they have aggregated into their account.

Request Rights - Batch Requests (Twitter/Instagram)

Nosto's UGC offers the ability for customers to Batch Request Rights via Response for any of the following pieces of Content:

  • Any Aggregated Tweet from Twitter

  • Instagram Post which either mentions your Business in the Caption or a Comment
