Nosto does not aggregate Facebook Reviews as an out-of-the-box solution. However, we can use a third-party service to bring these reviews into a UGC account.
Before you start:
For this integration you will need to:
Be an admin user of the Facebook page that you want to aggregate reviews from
Have an account with Zapier (a third-party provider - free account available)
Install the Zapier plugin on your Stack and complete the authentication process. For more information please visit this guide.
Zapier is a web-based service that allows you to integrate various web applications and perform certain actions based on defined rules. The list of applications that Zapier integrates with can be found here. https://zapier.com/apps/integrations
Hands-On Time!
Once you have logged in to Zapier, select the option to ‘Make a Zap!’. Here, you will be prompted to choose a trigger application and you should select ‘Facebook Pages’. Then select the trigger ’New Rating/Reviews’.
In the next step, Zapier will ask you to connect to your Facebook account. Click on ‘Connect an Account’ and follow the steps shown on the screen. Next, will be asked to select the Facebook Page that you want to collect reviews from. Select the desired page from the drop-down menu and click ‘Continue’
Note: If the page you are looking for does not show up in the list, make sure that you have admin permission on the page and that you are logged in with the correct Facebook credentials.
Zapier will ask you to confirm the page selection if you’re happy with the setup click on ‘Fetch and continue’. Otherwise, if you wish to change any of the previous steps you can do so by accessing them through the steps shown on the left side.
After that, will define what are the actions that you want Zapier to perform once a new review is submitted on the selected page. Here we will be using Nosto's Zapier app integration.
After selecting the Nosto (Stackla) app, select ‘Create Text Tile’ and click on ‘Save + Continue’.
Note: By the time of writing, Facebook reviews did not accept images.
The final step will ask you to confirm in which Stack the tile should be created. If your Stack does not show up on the drop-down list, click on ‘Connect an Account’ and follow the instructions on the screen. The step-by-step on how to connect an account is described in this support article.
Now is where you define how your Tiles are created in Nosto. In other words, here is where you define what are the data, from a Facebook Review, that Zapier should include in each Tile. This process is called ‘field mapping’ and to assist you with this task, Zapier collects information from your last Facebook Page review to use as sample data. You will find on the right end of each field a burger menu that brings a dropdown with some data samples to select from. This allows you to preview the type of data that will populate each field.
You can also personalize the data in each field, combining the text templates with free text. For example:
Once you finish configuring your Tile template click on ‘Continue’. You will be presented with a sample of the data that you have defined and, if you’re happy with it, click on ‘Send Test To Stackla’. Zapier will save the configuration and send the latest review to your Stack.
Important: This setup does not allow you to collect legacy content, it will only start aggregating reviews from the moment you set up the Zap.
