You might notice that in some instances tiles from Instagram displayed in your Onsite UGC Widget show the hashtag used to aggregate the tile instead of the creator's user handle on the expanded tile.

The reason for that is for posts aggregated via hashtag we can't get the user handle due to limitations put in place by Facebook API in the interest of privacy for its end users. See more details in this article.

In order to ensure that you can still attribute the post back to Instagram and its content creator, our templates will by default show the hashtag used for aggregation when the user handle is unavailable.

But, why do some posts aggregated via Hashtag show the user handle?

You might also notice that in some cases some posts you have aggregated via hashtag do have the user handle, and the reason for that is that some posts are aggregated via multiple terms so, in case of a post that has been aggregated via a hashtag and business mention as an example we will be able to get the user handle via the business mention API and show it in Nosto Admin Portal and widgets. We won't be able to do the same for posts aggregated via hashtag only.
